A Quietloom cheat sheet · video-calling
Video calling
Step 1
Open the family’s app — FaceTime, WhatsApp, Messenger.
The icon the family told you to use. If you are not sure, ask which one before the call starts. Every app’s screen looks a little different.
Step 2
Pick the person’s name from your contacts.
Most apps list every contact on the home screen. The family member is the one whose invitation you already accepted — their name appears in the list.
Step 3
Tap the camera icon to start the call with video.
A regular call is voice-only. The camera icon turns the call into a video call where you can both see each other. Tap it once and the screen lights up.
Step 4
If you can’t hear them, check the volume.
Use the buttons on the side of the phone. The phone may also be on mute — a small speaker icon with a line through it means muted. Tap it once to unmute.
Step 5
If they can’t see you, tap the camera icon during the call.
It sits at the bottom of the screen. If the camera is off, the icon has a line through it. One tap turns your camera back on.
